Hello everyone, and welcome to my featured products for the month of March. As I am always on the go, I like to pack with me travel-size items, which could be used in various ways. Without further a due, let me share with you products I decided to feature this month:
1- Dior 5 Color Mini Eyeshadow Palette
I love how small and versatile this small palette is, and I love that you could create so many different looks with it. The neutral colors and shimmer options allow you to create day and night looks. The middle shade is perfect for inner corner and brow highlight. The brown shade is my favorite color, and it allows you to create a beautiful smokey eye. I found that it works best with a primer, or better yet, a tinted cream shadow base. Though the pink shade does not have a strong color payoff, it is buildable and works well with other shadows.
2- Kylie Cosmetics Eyeshadow Duo
I bought this mini duo when Kylie Cosmetics launched their first Valentine’s Limited Edition Collection. The idea was to use them for both eyes and face. While the peach would serve as a crease color, the shimmer would occupy the space on the lid and brighten the inner corner of the eye. They would also be doubled as blush and highlight. Although I very much enjoyed using the peach color as blush (I use it a lot more as blush than as eyeshadow), the shimmer color was too chunky to be used as a highlight, and instantly creased on the lid.
3- Smashbox Gel Liner
Although I previously mentioned this item on my website, I paired it with these items as it is the element that brings everything together and makes the eye look pop. This is the eyeliner of choice that I always travel with, and I use it so many ways. If I am keeping the eye look light, I like to use the eyeliner to create a cat eye, and if I am going for a smokey look, I line the entire eye, and it brings the look together and gives it a sultry effect.
4- Smashbox Photo Finish Under Eye Primer
Such a brightening and moisturizing formula that hydrates and brightens. It helps concealer glide on, dries quickly, and does not create a barrier between the skin and other products.
5- Kat Von D Lock-it Setting Powder
I bought the travel-size setting powder, as I wanted to test my baking skills. I soon found that with my already dry skin, baking dried out my under eye area even more, so I started using the loose powder to set my makeup instead. I like how soft the powder is, and it has done a good job with blotting areas where I get oily, especially around my nose. I even use it on my eyelids to help blend eyeshadows.
