As we leave the summer behind, I wanted to highlight some items that stood out to me, including some travel and fashion recommendations.
SUMMER READ: THE EDGE OF TRUTH BY BRYNN KELLY
This is a thriller/ romance type novel that’s a perfect summer read. The plot is very intense, passionate, with a ton of suspense, and it leaves you on the edge of your seat and keeps the pages turning.
These gorgeous sandals go so well with dresses, skirts, jeans, or pants. They are so classy and feel super comfortable. I walked in them for hours the first time I wore them and they did not hurt or give me any blisters. Plus, they are very affordable ($25 at Target). Image source: target.com
Summer also evokes natural flush and glow, which I found using these two products by Benefit: Bene tint cheek and lip stain and the High Beam liquid face highlighter. The only peeve I have with the stain is that it stains my fingers when I blend it to my cheeks and lips. That being said, it gives you the most natural flush that lasts all day. The liquid highlighter gives you a glow that looks soft and captivating. I leave it on its own for a natural glow, or add a powder highlighter on top for a stronger effect.
I am obsessed with this nail polish, which I purchased this summer at ULTA. The color is a very bright peachy-pink and is perfect for the summer. Shade: Watermelon Wizz (313)
SUMMER DESTINATION: MARRAKECH
I went to Morocco for a few days this summer, where the weather was absolutely perfect. I visited the Majorelle botanical gardens, a property that was owned by YSL in Marrakech. I love the bright colors, exotic architecture, and the various plants, making the gardens a perfectly Instagramable location.
SUMMER EVENT: BRUSSEL’S FLOWER CARPET
Every two years, Brussels hosts a huge flower carpet event, and this year the theme was Mexico. In celebration of this event, nearly a million begonias were laid in the Grand Place. The flower carpet lasts only four days, and includes other events throughout the day such as music, and at night, the plaza lights up in various colors.
