Product Empties

January’s Empties (2nd Edition)

Welcome back to the second edition of the Empties series on Travel, Beauty, Lifestyle! I am excited to continue decluttering and refining my collection, and reviewing products I’ve used up as I go. Without further a due, let me present this month’s product empties, along with a couple of items I removed from my collection.

1- JLO Jluxe

This fragrance came in as a duo. It is the ‘nighttime’ version, as the other one is much lighter and more standard. I like it because it has sweet and warm notes, which make it long-lasting and fresh-smelling. I wore it every day and loved the way it smells.

2- Cup O’Coffee Face Mask and Scrub by Lush ($11.95)

IMG_3711I love this product so much, this is the second pot I’ve emptied. It is by far the best face scrub I’ve tried. It smells very fresh and natural, and contains real coffee grounds. I usually use it once or twice a week, leave it on for 15 minutes, then scrub in circular motions and wash it. It leaves the skin feeling soft and clean, and scrubs away all the dead skin. I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a good face scrub.

3- Embryolisse Lait Crème Concentré ($28.49)

I was curious about this product since I always saw Sam from Pixiwoo use it. I immediately fell in love with it when I first used it. I bought it in Europe since I did not think they sold it in the United States. At that time, I was tired of my skin always getting irritated from all the moisturizers that claim to be organic or natural but are not. The texture is very rich, yet light on the skin. It gets absorbed easily and instantly hydrates the skin. It is great for people with dry skin, and does a great job locking in moisture. I also love that it is used as mask or primer too. Makeup goes on flawlessly on top, and helps the skin look more radiant. I definitely plan on keeping on using this item since my skin loves it.

4- Nivea Creme ($0.99)

This is such a great and affordable product. I always had it in my purse and used as hand creme. Similarly to my face, my hands used to get extremely irritated when I used other moisturizers or cremes that were fragrance based or had certain chemicals in them. This creme is very gentle on the skin and very rich and moisturizing. A little bit goes a long way, and it comes in a tin pot that’s very easy to open.

5- Dove Exfoliating Body Polish with Kiwi Seeds & Cool Aloe

This product came in with a little kit with a shower gel by the same brand, and a small (not very good) loofah. I used up both products, but I liked the scrub a lot more than I thought I would. The scrubbing particles are very fine like salt, and the fragrance smells fresh and soft. It does a great job exfoliating, and I always feel fresh after using it.

Products I decluttered:

1- Arm and Hammer Deodorant ($2.89)

IMG_3699I had very high hopes for this product and was very disappointed. I use laundry detergent by the same brand, so I thought the deodorant would work just as well. Putting this on is exactly like putting nothing on. It offers no protection whatsoever, and no matter how much of this product I used, the result was the same. I gave it a fair chance and tried it many times and every time, the result was just as bad, so I had to throw it away. I don’t recommend this product at all (although this might work differently for someone else).

2- Voluminous Million Lashes by L’Oreal Paris

I liked this mascara when I first used it since it did a great job lengthening my eyelashes and giving them volume. It also smelled like roses, which I liked. As I kept using it; however, it didn’t perform as well for some reason, so I decided to part ways with it.
