Welcome to another month’s edition of product empties, where I review five products I’ve used up, plus others I am decluttering. I’ve really enjoyed using some of these products, and others I won’t purchase again. Without further a due, here are this month’s five empties:
1- Clinique repair laser focus
This is one of the best creams I have ever used! Clinique does such a great job with eye creams, and I highly enjoyed using this one. It’s great for hydrating under the eyes and helping brighten the skin. I highly recommend this product.
2- Ahava Mineral Body Lotion
I also loved using this product. It is such a nice soft cream that hydrates the skin without irritating it. I also love that it contains natural ingredients and that it smells fresh. I highly recommend this product.
3- Peter Thomas Roth Potent C Power Serum
I fell in love with this product when I tried the small travel-size packets, but when I started using it regularly, I didn’t like it as much as I did before. I felt like it wasn’t very hydrating, and I didn’t notice much difference in my skin afterwards. I would say this is suits normal to oily skin best.
4- Make-up Empties
Maybelline Age Rewind: I don’t think anyone that’s tried this product said anything negative about it. I loved using this product and the price is ideal. The quality is great, it goes on smoothly, brightens the under-eye area, and lasts all day.
Too Faced Brow: This is another product that I have enjoyed using and that’s worked well for me. It retails for $22, and I believe I got it while on sale. I don’t think, however, that I will be repurchasing the same product, as I want to try something different.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I decided to get rid of this product while it was halfway used since I don’t really use primers anymore and I find this particular one quite greasy and heavy. But I did enjoy Smashbox’s liquid spray and I found that it worked better for me.
5- L’Oreal Revitalift Day Cream with SPF25
The moment I started using this cream, my face broke out in acne, and it lingered for weeks before it started disappearing. I believe the combination of products I was using contributed to that, but breakouts started when I was using this cream. It also didn’t like that it smelled quite chemically and it irritated my skin. It is supposed to be an anti-aging cream; however the note in the back said that the product could cause aging, so I was a bit confused about that. With all these factors combined, I decided to stop using this product and not really use anything from this skincare line.
6- Olay Eyes Illuminating Eye Cream
This is another product that I threw away halfway through. The cream is mixed with glitter to give the illusion that the under eye area is bright. The result is lingering glitter on the skin. It also does not have a long shelf life since it started smelling extremely chemically after a while, so I stopped using it.
This is it for March! I feel like I have started getting a better idea of products that work for me and for dry skin in general, which I like to keep in my collection. Have you used any of these products before, and which ones work well for dry skin?
