Project Declutter: Mascaras

IMG_5346.jpg

As a part of my project pan, I classified makeup items by category. This time, I will be going over mascaras I would like to use up by the end of the year. I have gone through a few tubes, and I have to say the one I was impressed with the most is Tarte’s Amazonian Clay. It gave my lashes a lot of volume and did such a great job lengthening them. Unfortunately, I am not planning on repurchasing that item anytime soon, as I have more mascaras to go through, and I will most likely pick a cheaper option that’s just as good.

That being said, there are three main mascaras I am working on using-up this year, two are travel size. I have to say, this is not the most exciting mascara collection, but focusing on a few forces me to use what I have before ‘needing’ to purchase another product.

The Sephora mini mascara isn’t the best. It does not do a great job coating the lashes, nor does it give them any length or volume. I use it for ‘no mascara’ mascara days. The second mini is from Tarte. It’s not a bad mascara, but it is not the best, either. It gives great volume, but I wasn’t as impressed with it as I was with the Amazonian Clay one. I am working on finishing that one up at the moment, and I would say that I enjoy using it.

The last mascara I am working on using up this year is L’Oreal’s Voluminous Lash Mascara. It is a pretty good product, although my only issue with it is that I have to work extra hard when I remove it, as the product flakes and gets all over the place.

What I like about this bundle is that I was able to reduce mascaras down to 3 after decluttering and using up the rest. It makes the goal of emptying them by the end of the year much more reasonable, especially that my Tarte mascara is almost empty. I look forward to updating you on my progress with these products.

Have you used any of the mentioned mascaras? Which ones would you recommend for future purchases?
